What kind of tile is Brickstone Taupe 2x10?
We stock Brickstone Taupe 2x10 as porcelain in a brick shape, 2x10. It reads taupe. It comes as mesh-backed mosaic sheet, which sets faster than loose pieces. Porcelain is the hard-wearing end of the fired-clay family: dense body, tight edges, and no sealing.
Sizes and finishes
How it is actually sold — measured off the spec sheet, not rounded.
Sizes
Brickstone Taupe 2x10 is made in a single size, 2x10. That makes layout simple — what you see in the sample is the module you get across the whole wall.

Planning the wall
What Brickstone Taupe 2x10 works out to on your wall, from its own published size.
| Size (inches) | Pieces per 10 sq ft | Grout line per sq ft |
|---|---|---|
| 2×10 | 72 | 7.2 ft |
Arithmetic on the published size; a straight grid layout. Herringbone and other patterns cut more pieces.
Brickstone Taupe 2x10 is a 2×10 module, which works out to about 72 pieces for each 10 square feet you cover.
The spec sheet lists it as pressed rather than rectified: the edges are as they left the press, slightly softer, and the joints are set a little wider to suit.
Counts are before cuts — outlets, window returns and the ends of a run all take pieces. The install itself, from wall prep to caulk, is on our backsplash installation page.

Brickstone Taupe 2x10 or Brickstone Taupe 5x10?
Brickstone Taupe 2x10 and Brickstone Taupe 5x10 are easy to confuse on a sample board: they share the same material, collection, style, glaze type, PEI rating, shade-variation rating, certifications, edge and color listing. What separates them:
- Brickstone Taupe 2x10 is made in 2x10; Brickstone Taupe 5x10 in 5X10. On 10 square feet of wall that is about 72 pieces of Brickstone Taupe 2x10 against about 29 of Brickstone Taupe 5x10, and 7.2 against 3.6 feet of grout line per square foot.
- Measured off each swatch, Brickstone Taupe 2x10 reads #CABDB7 (light, near-neutral) and Brickstone Taupe 5x10 reads #A19B95 (mid-light, essentially neutral), so Brickstone Taupe 2x10 sits lighter than Brickstone Taupe 5x10 on the wall.
What to expect once it is installed
The ratings that decide whether the finished wall matches the sample.
Shade variation: V4 — substantial variation
Pieces vary substantially in color and pattern, by design. Two tiles side by side can look like different products. Order from one production run, buy your overage up front, and insist on a dry lay before anything is set — this is the rating that generates complaints when nobody was told.
Wear rating: PEI 4
On the industry abrasion scale of 1 to 5, this one sits at 4 — residential floors plus light commercial traffic, so it will outlast the kitchen around it.
Certifications
Certified to Greenguard Gold · USGBC/LEED. Gold is the higher of the two Greenguard tiers, and the difference between them is a lower limit on indoor emissions. It contributes toward LEED where that is part of the brief.
What to put next to it
Built from the color we measured off Brickstone Taupe 2x10 itself, not from its name.
We measured this tile's own swatch at #CABDB7 — light and near-neutral. The closest color we hold pairing data for is Greige, so that is what the recommendations below are built from. It reads as a neutral, so it will sit behind whatever else you choose instead of competing with it.
Cabinets
- Pure White — walls one step warmer than the cabinets so the white reads crisp. Against this surface it is a step lighter, which lifts the surface without washing it out classic
Countertop
- White Veined (Marble-Look) — Greige keeps the veined white from feeling icy — the counter reads like linen instead of a showroom slab, and fingerprints vanish into the warmth.. Against this surface it is a step lighter, which lifts the surface without washing it out current
Hardware
- Warm Brass / Satin Gold — Brass pulls the hidden taupe out of greige, and as the lacquer softens over the years the pulls just look more collected, never tarnished.. Against this surface it is close in weight, so the two will blend rather than contrast current
Flooring
- Natural / White Oak — Greige and natural oak share the same beige undertone, so the cabinets seem to grow out of the floor — a quiet trick that makes small kitchens feel seamless.. Against this surface it is close in weight, so the two will blend rather than contrast solid

Questions about Brickstone Taupe 2x10
Answered from this product’s own spec sheet and our measurement of it.
What size is Brickstone Taupe 2x10?
Brickstone Taupe 2x10 comes in one size, 2x10. One module across the whole wall keeps the layout simple — what you approve in the sample is what you get.
Where can I use Brickstone Taupe 2x10?
Its maker rates it for flooring. We hold to that rating when we quote — installing outside it is how a warranty claim gets denied.
Will the tiles match the sample I saw?
Brickstone Taupe 2x10 is rated V4 — substantial variation, by design. Two pieces side by side can look like different products. Order from one production run, buy the overage up front, and insist on a dry lay. This is the rating that generates complaints when nobody was told.
Can Brickstone Taupe 2x10 go on a floor?
Yes, comfortably. At PEI 4 it is rated past residential floors into light commercial traffic, so it will outlast the kitchen around it.
What color is Brickstone Taupe 2x10, really?
We measured its own swatch at #CABDB7 — light and near-neutral. It sits close to neutral, so it takes direction from the cabinets rather than fighting them. Names are marketing; that number is what the camera saw.
Does Brickstone Taupe 2x10 need sealing?
No. Porcelain is vitrified almost to zero water absorption. The tile itself never needs sealing; cement grout still benefits from it.
