Chicago proper is its own kind of job

Seven of these ZIP codes are Chicago itself, and city installs are not suburban installs with more traffic. Stair carries, tight turns, alley loading, elevator buildings with a service window someone else controls, a permit-parking block where the truck cannot simply sit — every one of those is a real variable in whether a slab arrives intact.

So we measure the route, not just the counter. When we template a city kitchen we walk the way the stone will come in, and if a piece has to be seamed differently to make the turn at the top of a staircase, we would rather design that seam on purpose than discover it on install day.
